Reflection

You know the feeling when you finally graduate from high school and cannot wait for the next chapter in your life. You always want to learn more and more. During the summer I was all curious about my classes. College classes. Finally, I was in college. I did not know what to expect because I have heard from my senior brothers that college is really hard. So I was a bit nervous and scared. Apart from that, I was really excited about college. I knew things would be much different. And it was. I hoped to meet new people, read new things, learn new things, improve my writing and over the period of the course I did.

The first day of class was good because of how much enthusiasm everyone had along with the Professor. As we were going through the syllabus I was excited about the stuff we were going to do throughout the semester. It included an advertisement project which I took great interest in because we will make an advertisement on a topic to bring awareness or anything we would like. Finding the topic and researching it had gained me a lot of knowledge about that particular topic. My topic was about mental and not many people do not know about the importance of mental health in one’s life. How much change or where could this problem take a person. Raising awareness on this topic and researching giving people knowledge about this particular topic was interesting. My peers have also come up with some good topics that could potentially raise awareness if the ad is actually on a billboard etc. we also did a group presentation about an article which helped me get to know my classmates more. It allowed us to work together. Brainstorm out ideas and our perspectives. We helped each other out. We did a really good group presentation. The most important thing we did was the Personal literacy narrative I wrote about my reading and writing experience throughout the years as I was growing up. In this essay, I talk about how I have gained interest in reading and writing. What my first ever a book was, and what kind of book do I take interest in reading. I hoped to dive into my life and explore my habitant of reading and writing and it’s benefits in my life. I also had a chance of going into memory lane of many things that I have forgotten. The first ever book that I have read took a lot of interest from that moment onwards. How I started writing a diary about everything that I used to do in my daily life to why I stopped writing or losing interest in it. And talk about its importance in anyone’s life. The potential audience in this is my classmates who would want to know more about me and my experience with my reading and writing. The rhetorical analysis I have learned throughout the semester has allowed me to understand what is happening in the text, what the author is trying to tell us, what the main idea of the book is, what the genre is, who are the potential audience for that particular book or article. Overall the class has taught me a lot of stuff that I wasn’t aware of.
